About us
We’re Fraser and Samantha Overweel, a husband-and-wife team based in Hawke’s Bay. Together we have four children and enjoy life on our small slice of rural paradise.
Like many family businesses, life is busy, juggling kids, work, and a few side hustles, but that’s exactly how we like it. Running this business together allows us to do what we enjoy while raising our family and staying connected to the land.
Fraser has been hunting for over 20 years and it’s always been a big part of who he is. During the week, you’ll usually find him on a building site, where he works as a qualified builde, but any spare time is spent hunting, duck shooting, or doing homekill.
He’s very much the face of the business and the people person. Fraser is the one you’ll meet on a hunt, see processing your meat, or end up having a good yarn with when you catch up. He brings a wealth of practical knowledge and experience, and these days he gets just as much satisfaction from teaching the younger generation as he once did pulling the trigger himself.
Sam works mostly behind the scenes and keeps things ticking along. By day she’s a high school teacher, and outside of school hours she takes care of many of the moving parts of the business.
She’s responsible for making all of the small goods, along with packaging, quality control, admin, bookings, and social media. It’s detailed work that needs to be done properly, and Sam takes pride in returning consistent, high-quality products.
Originally from Hawke’s Bay, Sam is pleased to be back home and raising a family in the region. Over the past decade she’s developed her hunting knowledge alongside Fraser and enjoys being part of a business where good service and happy clients matter.
